Turn on Your Light! More on Feng Shui and Dating!
What I like to think is that Feng Shui doesn’t necessarily fix anything; it’s actually more of a tool to guide you into a greater expression of who you already are. The fame and reputation area of the bagua is the area that represents your personal light and the mark you leave on the planet when you transcend to a new experience. How can we leave a mark if we aren’t already a huge blazing fire of self?
Most of us have seen this quote somewhere before, perhaps in a book, on a lunchbox or tucked into a fortune cookie…
“… our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is out light, not our darkness that most frightens us.”
It’s from Marianne Williamson, interpreting A Course In Miracles, quoted in her book A Return To Love. Both my friends Reese and Ken shared this quote with me recently so I thought I would take a closer look.
Marianne continues with:
“We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God.”
It’s true, I’m just a Jersey Girl living in Denver, and I often think/feel what could I possibly have to offer that is healing to our world? But when you take into consideration that “I am a child of God,” then I get a little hopeful that maybe I do have something unique to offer. Everyone’s interpretation of being “a child of God” will be different. To me it means that I am of “life energy” and a unique expression of that life energy. There are almost seven billion people (the animal species homo sapien) on the planet and there is only ONE Nicolette Vajtay! One!! Forever and ever, never to be recreated in the same way with the same life circumstances ever again! It’s an impossibility. And there is only one of you! So with this information, perhaps we have a responsibility to discover who we are and express all of that out into the world, because at some point that energy will die and never be, ever again. Maybe a little healthy ego is in order here, don’t you agree?
“Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.”
Unfortunately, I’ve heard my empowered and beautiful girlfriends say, “If I shine at 100% it intimidates and scares away the men!” My spiritual counselor Ken Ludwig would say, ”GOOD!! He should be running. If your light intimidates him, then he isn’t your spiritual match.”
More importantly I learned, if I don’t shine at my brightest, giving 100% of my unique self to the world, then my true soul mate, my true spiritual life partner, won’t ever see me!
“… the reason so many of us are obsessed with becoming stars is because we’re not yet starring in our own lives. The cosmic spotlight isn’t pointed at you; it radiates from within you. I used to feel like I was waiting for someone to “produce” me. I realized that the person I was waiting for was myself. If we wait for the world’s permission to shine, we will never receive it.”
Marianne hit the nail on the head. I too have felt like I’ve been waiting my whole life for my life to start. In reality, it started numerous decades ago. I am done waiting for someone to tell me I’m healed enough, fixed enough, happy enough, smart enough, accomplished enough where I can now start living my life and sharing my unique self with the world! Who’s with me? Its time to LIVE!
The good news is we don’t need to fix anything. You are who you are. You don’t need any more classes, workshops, or self help books to discover anything. You are you. You are unique! Remember? Imagine you over here, and 6,999,999,999 people over there.
So take your gorgeous self to your fame and reputation area of your home (back middle area of the home) and start setting some goals. Say your affirmations of self-empowerment here and remember who you are and how you want to live in the world. This area is ruled by the element FIRE so add a bright burning candle or two to the room, paint the room a fire color (red, orange, pink, purple) or add a piece of artwork that inspires your greatest self to come forth. I looked in my bathroom where my fame and reputation area is and I had so much water and metal… two destructive cycles of energy! When I finally saw it, (it only took two years) I immediately got a new shower curtain with lots of fire colored flowers. Now, every time I go into the bathroom that shower curtain (yes, a shower curtain) reminds me of the brightest self I want to express into the world.
